Description: Close up of the facial features of two of the Jesse images in the Myers collection. Jesse suffered from a serious, almost fatal, chest wound and went to California to recuperate. He returned to the South in 1867 but was much thinner and much gaunter than in his early or later images. Both these images are in this recupertive state in the 1867 period.
