Description: Cantey collection image. This image was bought directly from Carl Breihan who got it from a member of the James family(Estelle James, wife of Frank's son, Robert James). The image was taken in Kentucky in 1866, shortly before Archie was guned down in Lexington, Mo. the same year. Frank James mentioned the image in a post 1900 article and said Clement was one of the best friends he ever had. It has been published several times and NEVER disputed as Frank James or Archie Clement. This is the original tintype.
