Frank James, Armed guerrilla
Last Random Picture | Next Random Picture
Description: Frank James as a guerrila in a guerrilla shirt and holding a gun and a knife. This image dates circa 1862 and it is an early ambrotype. It is marked in the back of the case, contemporarily, "Frank James Carney." Carney was an often mis-spelling for Kearney, Mo. where the James farm was. It is one of two known images of Frank armed and both are in the Cantey collection. Image purchased from major Civil War dealer Rick Mack.
