Last Random Picture | Next Random Picture
Description: Myers collection image of the "flag bearer" Jack Swartz taken in Lawrence, Kansas in 1869. He wears a Mexican kerchief. Noted as the ONLY image known of the Lawrence black flag. He is holding it folded in his left hand as he essentially thumbs his nose at Lawrence. It is documented that he kept it until his death after the turn of the century. YES!  It did exist!
