James Henry Lane
Last Random Picture | Next Random Picture
Description: James Henry Lane, Union leader from Kansas of the Jayhawker raids into Missouri before and during the Civil War. He was a U.S. Senator and personal friend of President Abe Lincoln, who approved his actions in Missouri, generally. He was also a murder and a major thief. He went insane and commited suicide after the War. This is the ONLY KNOWN IMAGE of Lane in death. It is unknown how Gus Myers obtained it but it is assumed the surviving guerrillas, who hated him to the ground, wanted to make certain he was indeed dead.
