Richard Underwood and Benjamin Vansel

Description: Myers journal notes this image was taken in 1862 and they were "Porter's men".  Dick Underwood (L) was indeed with Porter. He was captured and shot to death at Lick Creek, Missouri. Ref: Mudd, Branded as Rebels. Benjamin "Ben" Vansel was also with Porter. What happened to him is not known.
