Last Random Picture | Next Random Picture
Description: This image and the Post Civil War image of Grimes were the first two images in the Cantey/Myers Collection. These started the journey before any knowledge that it would evolve into the most important Missouri guerrilla collection extant. This image is of Bryan Grimes (R) and his friend J.J. Harris (L) in 1856. They were both from Pitt County, North Carolina. They wear the uniforms of the North Carolina, pre-War, State Militia. The Grimes images and artifacts were collected by Gus Myers' son, George Myers, Sr. in 1920.
