Description: The only known, in life, image of Robert Sallee James, father of Frank and Jesse James. It is a Daguerreotype taken in 1844 when he was 21 years old. The journal entry states that "Frank James gave Gus Myers this photo of his father." He died on August 18, 1850 in California on a trip to the gold fields.
