Squirrel Tail

Description: Squirrel Tail was a Cherokee Indian Scout for Quantrill. The Myers journal indicates that this image was taken in 1863.  In his book, Guerrillas and Other Curiosities (Page 262), Samuel Anderson Pence states that Squirrel Tail was killed near Waverly, Missouri in a fight against Federal troops under Captain Hawks of Iowa.
