Description: Myers collection image of Military educated Colonel Brewer who was Gus Myers' commander in the May 26, 1863 raid on Rhineland, Missouri. Gus had this double image made up by his father-in-law, E.A. Baldwin as a memorial to his beloved leader. The image on the left is in-life, while the image on the right is in-death. Brewer and his son were captured by Union Captain Sam Hunter in the summer of 1864 and both were summarily executed 3 miles west of Rineland. (Source: Branded As Rebels).
