Captain Pope Conger

Description: The Myers journal notes that this image was taken in December, 1863. He was a guerrilla captain with his own men. After a fight where three of his men (William Ingram, George Davis and a man named Nettles) were killed, Conger fled to Arkansas but was killed soon after by a man from New Madrid, Missouri who had followed Conger to Arkansas.
