Description: John Henry Holliday fully tinted tintype collected pre 1900 by George Myerson Jr., Gus Myers' son and fellow collector. It is dated "1878 in Fort Griffin, Texas". It is in an original art nouveau frame that sat on Doctor Myerson's office desk (George Myerson Jr. was a dentist). The frame itself dates 1890-1900 period. It is now known that this image was given in 1900 to George Myerson Jr. by Robert "Hub" Holliday and George H. Holliday, Doc Holliday's favorite cousins and personal friends of Dr. George Myerson Jr.

"I found him a loyal friend and good company. He was a dentist whom necessity had made a gambler; a gentleman whom disease had made a vagabond; a philosopher whom life had made a caustic wit; a long, lean blonde fellow nearly dead with consumption and at the same time the most skillful gambler and nerviest, speediest, deadliest man with a six-gun I ever knew."

  – Wyatt Earp speaking of Doc Holliday
