Captain Si Cockrell and Colonel J. "Vard" Cockrell

Description: Myers journal notes this image was taken in 1862 and that they are giving the "Mason Dixon sign" with their hands. Si was with Quantrill. He was the brother of Brig. General Francis Marion Cockrell. Vard was a Confederate Colonel and a recruiter for the Partisan Rangers in 1862 in Missouri. He was one of the Colonel's in Charge of CSA troops at Lone Jack and worked closely with Quantrill. Ref: Brownlee and Edwards, Branded as Rebels.
