Description: Late tinype image of Zerelda Mimms James, wife of Jesse W. James, taken after his death in 1882. Grief and age shows clearly on her face, even though she smiles gamely .I would judge this image as 1890s. She died in 1900. She bore Jesse two children; Jesse Edwards James and Mary Susan James. Both survived her. This image is from the former Wilbur Zink collection sold at auction by Heritage Auctions to the Cantey Collection in 2013.
