Sam and Amanda Bowen
Last Random Picture | Next Random Picture
Description: Myers collection, framed image of Sam and Amanda Bowen. Amanda was banned from the U.S. because she supported the South. She was, however, safe if she remained aboard her brother Sam's riverboat which he piloted between  St. Louis and Memphis. Amanda carried letters between CSA soldiers, their wives and families. Women delivered the letters to Amanda when they visited her aboard the boat when in dock. She was a true CSA patriot in the cause.
