Captain Ninian "Ning" Leeton

Description: The Myers journal notes that this image was taken in April, 1863. Captain Leeton was with Anderson. He was elected Captain of a squad of me in Anderson's Company at the beginning of the war. He surrendered at Liberty, Missouri in 1865. He was later elected Marshal of Smithville, Missouri and then elected several times as marshal of Liberty, Missouri. Later he served two terms as Sheriff of Clay County. Then he moved to West Pains, Missouri and served three terms as their City Marshal. He was serving as City Marshal there when he died in 1905.
