Description: Rare image of a reb doctor. This is Dr. John Winston Benson taken April 3, 1863 with his lady friend. He was Quantrill's personal doctor. He was also with Captain Blunt and was at Lawrence in 1863. He was captured and executed October 6, 1863 after being induced to surrender after being told he would be treated as a prisoner of War (another Yankee lie). He was shot sitting on his own coffin.
