Description: Susan Langdon Vaughn taken in 1859. She was the founder of decoration day (Myers' word, we called it Memorial Day that was originally founded as a CONFEDERATE HOLIDAY) and smuggled medicine and supplies to Quantrill's men during the War. She smuggled morphine and quinine in her petticoats, bosom, and hat to General Cockrell's Missouri Brigade as well. She was a brave young lady and a saint to many suffering men.
