Last Random Picture | Next Random Picture
Description: This is a post war image taken in 1888 when he was 54 years old. The journal states it was "presented to Gus Myers in 1899 by Commander William Gregg during the 1899 UCV Convention". Evidently, he was a hero to Gregg and Myers. He fought in the battles of Carthage, Wilson's Creek, and Pea Ridge. His "Cockrell's Brigade" was composed totally of Missourians. He was elected a United States Senator in 1875 and served 30 years. He died December 13, 1915 in Washington, DC. Ref: K.C. G. Vol 33, Branded as Rebels
